One of the consistently offered services on various webmaster boards (Digitalpoint and V7N) are for content creation. Everyone wants a site with rich content but doesn’t have time/writing skills to actually do it so you might think outsourcing to a country where English is a common taught second language is a good idea. Living in New Mexico

Since moving to New Mexico I really enjoyed the country life. I grew up in Indiana on a small hobby farm (7.5 acres) so I really enjoyed the return to country life. My wife who has always lived in cities in California has really enjoyed the move. There are times of course when we miss the various amenities of city life – like really nice sushi restaurants. Yesterday was one of those times.

Making Mistakes

One the key advantages an entrepreneur has over a large corporation is the mistake department. I don’t mean not making them, I mean in making them. Most corporations are structured around the principle of mistake avoidance. But to be frank mistakes are the lifeblood of entrepreneurs because they are typically the hallmark of risk taking. One of the interesting thing about software design is how the intial assumptions tend to dominate the initial design. A lot of captchas had the initial design of reading letters or numbers that have been distorted or bent out of shape.

I owe Jeff Barr a BIG apology!

What can I say. I am an idiot. A total fool sometimes. I haven’t talked too much about Best Buys Zone or Best Buys Zone UK lately but they were the sites that gave me the initial idea for Early Miser – compare everywhere at once. Best Buys Zone was a project a built a few years ago with the help of a top notch Russian programmer. It pioneered or rather completely invented the category of shopping by RSS.

Upgraded MT

I upgraded my version of MT to the latest version 3.34. It went off completely without a problem. I find that amazing consideering the instructions were to simply overwrite most of my previous installations files.

Yahoo! Pipes is LIVE!

Pipes which is currently under a Digg effect, strikes me as a really really cool idea. For so long the cool factor of Google has meant that Yahoo has labored under the “big and popular” but not cool.
