Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools – Time to Get Out of Alpha

Note to Google – Time to integrate the two tools I use the most at Google (except Gmail of course). I am pretty tired of logging into two seperate tools that really should be integrated or at least offer the ability to be integrated.

I understand that when you bought Urchin there was going to some time completely integrating that into the the Google platform. Here’s what I want to see guys. I would love to be able to take a look at my incoming links from my Webmaster Tools and overlay Google Analytics so I can measure which organic links are converting better. I realize this might be a lot to ask and maybe I can use Google Analytics to do this right now but after a lot of wrestling with Analytic it doesn’t seem possible.
This is important to me because I need understand how users are linking to earlymiser.com in order to understand how they bookmark the site in social bookmarking sites as well as their own blog. I mean looking through my Google Webmaster Tools I found a social bookmarking site called Blue Dot which I had never heard of until I strolled through earlymiser.com’s links. Here’s another feature I would love for Google Webmaster Tools – NEW incoming links. When someone somewhere posts a new link to one of my web properties would it hurt to notify me? I would love an RSS feed of newly linked sites. Heck the ability to sort my external links by date would be a start.
Google is treating it’s Webmaster Tools very gingerly since it’s pretty apparent that they don’t wanna give away too much information since they are afraid of people using the tool to reverse engineer the search engine but come on let’s see some improvement and integration.
