MySQL

I spent this morning wrestling with the database this morning. We have a pretty powerful database server powering the cluster. (I have a 5 machine cluster to host various projects I start.) We have been in the new facility for roughly 1 year.

I don’t have a login to the console on the DB server so I have no idea exactly how many MySQL transactions we have done but in that it we have served up 299,631,818 hits on the cluster. While that’s not monstrous, it’s pretty respectable for a years time. So all the machine wanted was to be rebooted (memory leaks or file descriptors, it was one of those two) and things appear to be humming along great. I guess we should plan on an annual reboot.
