FreeBSD VPS is a free operating system which is like Unix and it is quite widely used by internet service providers in the world. The service providers use this operating system for embedded and appliances systems and anywhere where the reliability on the hardware is quite important. Although this program has been around for quite some time, it has only been recently that is has been launched on the internet and has become quite popular. In fact, this is an operating system which has evolved over three decades of development, refinement and research. Hardware companies like NetApp, Juniper, Nokia and IBM also use embedded systems where this operating system is used.
Power
To really understand if FreeBSD VPS is as great as it sounds, it would be necessary to understand some of it features. Since this system runs on a 386 hardware, it is quite efficient for modern computers. It does not really require Pentium III and it only uses around half a gig RAM for running the interface. You would be able to use the hardware for things that are important for you rather than for the operating system. This system also supports graphical interface and is actually quite powerful.
Simple Software Management
One of the best things about FreeBSD VPS is that it simplifies the software management with the help of Ports Collection. Although it would traditionally require a lot of expertise to run a software like this, with Ports Collection it actually becomes automated and the installation, configuration as well as uninstalling gets quite easy. It also makes it considerably easy to install various software on the system.
Upgrade Process
Unlike some of the other operating systems that require upgrade processes which are quite lengthy and risky, with FreeBSD VPS, there is no such problem. The upgrade process is quite simple. The operating system is optimized for applications and for hardware which would make it easy for each of your feature to be supported by the hardware.
Even if you change your hardware, you would still be able to rebuild the operating system in such a way that it would be able to handle it the best way possible. These were only some of the benefits of using FreeBSD VPS. This operating system is really as good as it has been said to be.
