This highlights a exactly Google’s competitve advantage. They understand their most powerfu feature is the Google platform. They have always used this to role out new ideas that change the way people view the web.

Take a look at what they did with webmail. They forced everyone to upgrade their service offerings. Originally I thought they would get into the video on demand business. As that post also makes abundantly clear, Google’s platform IS it’s competitve advantage. This means they get to try new business ideas and markets without having to worry about scalability since it’s built into the platform.
