Millions of people struggle from a problem called binge eating. Whether people consider it as a disorder or not something has to be done about it. What is it anyway?

Binge is when a person loses total control when eating large amount of food past any embarrassment or need. This is usually a rapid response to anxiety or stress and is considered as a bad management for boredom, happiness, and anger. Bingeing can be considered a disorder when it happens at an average of two times a week for at least six months. Here are some simple ways that can help you beat the binge.

Create a diversion

If you are one of the many people who rely on bingeing for pouring out emotions then you better find a solution as early as possible. You can beat the binge today if you are really committed. You can begin your binge beating by finding a better solution. Diversions are one of the best answers to help stop this problem. Have a diversion plan and take it seriously. If you are busy doing something else then you wont have time to stuff more food in your mouth. When the urge for bingeing comes, find something else to do to fill that gap and replace that urge.

Have a friend by your side

Beating the binge may be a hard task but it takes strength and perseverance to do so. You need somebody by your side such as a friend or preferred family member to preoccupy you and even help stop you the moment you stuff potato chips, marshmallows, burgers, and the sort on your mouth. Your friend can help you on your diversion plans and he or she can increase your motivation towards your goal of beating the binge. Although he or she cannot be with you most of the time, it is already your prerogative to continue executing your plan without anyone watching.

Change your views about food

People who binge usually look at food as a good friend in times of trouble and boredom. Many who binge tend to eat only once a day and stuff their stomachs until it bulges. The good thing to put in mind is to consider food as source of nutrient and life. Think of food as nourishment and try your best to balance your diet fruits, vegetables, protein, and whole grain. Visualize the components or ingredients that compose of the food that you usually binge with. This way you will realize some consequences to your bingeing.

Whatever you do, always put in mind that getting rid of binge eating is a progression. Binge eating cannot be overcome in one day. If you find your current dietary plan and diversion plan too hard to do then step back a bit and start things little by little until you reach your goal of beating the binge. The process in beating the binge may be difficult but once you have successfully fought it then you will know how rewarding your efforts are.
